about

STATEMENT

My work is related to landscape, which is the source of inspiration for my paintings. The concepts of painting and landscape intertwine and are used in an analogous way, proposing spaces of temporality open to a processuality that tries to overcome the mere representational construction offered by the supremacy of sight. The idea of nature-process, that is, nature as a body, completely singular, corresponds to my way of understanding painting which, being also an agent, presents itself from the significant potentiality of its gesture.

As an artist, I am concerned about the ability to talk about landscape today, needing to establish a discourse that highlights the urgency of revising the parameters on which we have been building the term. It seems important to me to work on the resituation capacities of the gaze, when looking ceases to be something exclusive to distance, and to offer tools to establish critical thoughts that help to reflect on the places we inhabit.
